An option available to migrate from MFP to HEC-MetVue is to modify the default Program Order in an existing watershed.

Changing the Program Order can break alternatives, model linking, and extracts. The best practice to avoid these breakages is to only use an Alternative with one Program Order. If the Program Order changes, you may need to update the Model Linking and Extract Editor. Old Forecast Runs will also break and will need to be discarded or updated.

Edit an Existing Program Order

  1. Clean up Forecasts, Forecast Runs, and Model Alternatives.
    1. Delete old Forecasts that include Forecast Runs based on the old Program Order that will be modified.
    2. Delete Forecast Runs that are based on the old Program Order.
    3. Delete Model Alternatives from any program that is going to be removed from the Program Order. For instance if MFP is going to be removed from the Program Order, delete the MFP Model Alternatives.
  2. Within the Setup module, select the Program Order option from the Models menu.
  3. The Program Order dialog will appear.
Program Order Dialog - Default Program Order
  4. Select the top row (MFP) in the Program Order and then choose the Insert Before option under the Edit menu.
Program Order Dialog - Edit Menu Options
  5. Choose MetVue from the dropdown list in the Select Program dialog. Click OK.
    Select Program Dialog
  6. Select the row from the table with MFP and choose Remove from the Edit menu.
  7. Click Apply to save your changes and click OK to close the Program Order dialog.

After modifying the program order import the HEC-MetVue project into the watershed and create Forecast Runs, and continue with your operations. If you need to create new HEC-MetVue Project (see Creating an HEC-MetVue Project).
